Crescent Hill | Clifton

Welcome to Crescent Hill / Clifton

A charming and vibrant community near the heart of the city.

This eclectic, semi-urban neighborhood is near the heart of downtown Louisville. The vibe is similar to the Highlands neighborhood, but with less people and congestion. Enjoy walking down Frankfort Avenues and checking out local shops, local restaurants, and local coffee shops.

Crescent Hill and Clifton offers a mixture of big, historic homes with original pine floors and older “shotgun” style homes closer to the downtown city limits with unique floor plans. You won’t find “cookie cutter” homes in this neighborhood.

What to Love

  • Walking distance to many businesses and dining options

  • Artsy culture/community vibe

  • Less crowing and congestion than the sought-after Highlands District.

  • Unique homes with character

Dining

Crescent Hill/ Clifton has it all when it comes to dining options and hip cafés. From the Silver Dollar, a gritty, southern style honky-tonk with southern cuisine, to Porcini’s, an upscale Italian eatery with an extensive wine list, this neighborhood has something for everyone. Popular cafes include Please and Thank you – a locally owned coffee shop and bakery, known for their chocolate chip cookies. Another hot spot is Vint Coffee Shop, which is usually packed with students from the two local seminaries. Finally, Cafe Classico, akin to a modern French café with small bites, great coffee and the best wine, and in the evenings, quiet music by independent but local musicians.
